G2G Rail Experience
Maintaining and advocating for trails along Southwestern Ontario’s historical transportation route.
Over 132 KM of Trail To Experience!
G2G Rail Trail Experience is all about connection. Connection between yourself and others, people and nature, cyclists and hikers, rural and urban settings, beaches and buildings. G2G Rail Trail Inc. is sustained by an enthusiastic volunteer base that is motivated to provide a sustainable inclusive multi-use trail. All efforts on the trail are funded by private donations and government grants. With that in mind, the trail is free for everyone to use but can only continue to be maintained by donations.
A donation of as little as $5 will add you to our e-mail communications and keep you in touch with all things G2G Rail Trail!
Planning your experience
Make sure you explore our interactive Google Map before you head out on the trail. This resource helps you identify the detours, where you can park, where you can stay, eat, shop and more!
G2G Rail Trail Background
Ever since the late 1800’s these lands have been a transportation corridor that has connected communities and brought people together! Now the trail is owned by the Province of Ontario and leased back to several trail stakeholders including G2G Rail Trail Inc.
Volunteer with G2G
Our volunteers keep G2G Rail Trail alive! We are always looking for volunteers and groups to help out in managing the trail sections or organizing advocacy and fundraising events on the trail.
Blyth Tunnel Restoration Project
In accordance with our vision to develop and maintain a safe and accessible, continuous G2G Rail Trail Experience, it is time to remove a major safety barrier! The Blyth Tunnel, which once ran under Rd 25 just West of Blyth, ON, was backfilled following the decommissioning of the CP Rail Line many years ago. As a result, our users must hike up and down a steep and bumpy gravel path, crossing over a busy road, in order to continue on their G2G Rail Trail Experience. Our goal for 2023 is to restore the old tunnel, allowing bikers, hikers, walkers, and wheelers to travel under the road in a safe manner.
We are looking to you to make a once-in-a-lifetime contribution toward this milestone project for the benefit of current and future generations!
